A former NYC public school educator and program administrator for several nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, Sheria has long been a dedicated advocate for youth. Her journey toward founding Shaping Her Earth began in the South Bronx, where she taught Special Education in an under-resourced, gang-impacted community. There, she witnessed firsthand the urgent need for intentional spaces that empower young women of color. What started as mentorship and advocacy has grown into a national movement. Today, Sheria serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Shaping Her Earth, a nonprofit committed to cultivating leadership, sisterhood, and possibility for the next generation.
Shaping Her Earth empowers and guides young women of color by curating safe, transformative spaces as they transition into high school and navigate their journey through college.
Rooted in the belief that equity begins with intentional action, SHE is committed to dismantling structural barriers through impactful programs and community-driven practices. Our mission is to equip young women of color with the tools to claim space, uplift their communities, cultivate their talents, and use their voices to drive lasting, positive changeβin their lives and in the world around them.
